What are you guys talking about? I don't see any links to any news. MOS offered to buy the rest of the cargill shares but Cargill didn't want to sell (Lets just call the shares, cargill shares even though that's not really correct)We've gone over the buyout scenario ad nauseum.
Just trying to catch up with what you guys are talking about. Thanks.
My guess is that the attached link is what is getting people unduly excited. As you rightly pointed out, this cannot go anywhere for a variety of reasons for the foreseeable future. I did notice an analyst come out with a statement that MOS represents a good value with considerable upside potential. Those of us who have been around here for a while are well aware of that. The Canpotex 3 are all up today although MOS is front running the pack at the moment. Eventually though, things will get back to normal and MOS will trade in the usual way without any distraction from some bogus potential takeover rumor.
Is this a takeover or just an offer to buy Cargill shares? Are the Cargill shares enough to gain control? Seems lime we would be up quite a bit higher on a true takeover scenario. Pretty weak action for a takeover if you ask me...and I'm long the MOS.
