The potential is for a repurchase of about 30% of the outstanding stock to take place during 2013-2015 with each year involving tranches of 43 million shares. Unfortunately the buybacks cannot proceed until after November 26th. MOS has already stated its intention to repurchase all or a large portion of the non publicly traded shares held by the Cargill charitable trusts.
If I were the CEO, I'd be announcing a buyback as soon as possible to inject some much needed confidence for investors and to signal that the stock is in fact trading at a ridiculously cheap valuation. I see it, you see it... But sometimes investors need a good pat on the back to convince that the stock should be worth a lot more.
