Gentlemen (and Ladies too),
I am long on MCGC, but do not understand current situation. Two quarters ago I planned to sell shares, but somehow postponed the decision.
- From one side, MOST of the Private Equity firms are doing well (even extremely well) lately - check BX which I am strongly long or CG (I was long and sold)
- on the other side, their assets were constantly going down, less operations etc - like a slowly dying company, just waiting when it will be out of cash to pay fat dividend (note: not so fat as before!)
Does anybody have a good analysis of their current state? - or maybe a link to the analysis? Is the situation improving, or the same slow dying?
It will be greatly appreciated.
Here's a quick tip. Try calling MCG Cap. That's right, go to their website and look up a phone number and try to get someone or anyone on the phone. I think you will be quite surprised to realize that this company does not exist in any capacity except on paper. Warren Buffet did it right when he not only looked at a company on paper but also met with the owner in person. If you can't even get a secretary on the phone what makes you think management knows what is going on?
