Southwestern is the next biggest shareholder w/ about 7.5 percent and they have already expressed their concern about lowball offer. Shareholders will never approve of this price... the average cost basis for shareholders is probably closer to 15... this deal will be rejected in shareholder vote and M. Dell and company will have to sweeten the offer... they want it bad... Silverlake already leaked that they would be willing to pay 15 per share and that's the direction we're going
Its MSFT that is getting in on the cheap. After it goes private they will own Dell's most valuable channel to distribute all kinds of new products. They want to make $ in hardware like Apple. Lets not be stupid and let Gates/Ballmer rip us off. Demand $50.
at the end of last quarter... no way shareholders will approve this deal... this aint over and if Dell wants to put this behind him quickly to go private and turn company around, he will have to up the offer... this ain't over by a longshot
