I am curious on your take of the news AMD surpassed Intel this month. All of a sudden that is a startling very interesting statistic. I guess people are saying loud and clear that paying a couple hundred dollars less is more important than quality and service. I think Dell would be smarter to open their own "touch and feel" stores ala Gateway Country and maintaining prices then to butcher their profit margins. Any thoughts?
Dell have tried in the past with the "touch and feel" store and it wasn't porfitable, but I believe they will try it again. Right now INTEL is in a lot of pressure. With the AMD K3 directly competing with the Pentium III, INTEL will have to lower their current prices for the Pentium III which means greater profit margin for DELL computers.
