*Mr. Dell doesnt quite fit the bill of his recent adds.."We believe in doing direct business with customers.." ELSE he would have known..customers take plenty of DRAM as a given in any system these days. IT HAS GONE TO HIS HEAD...I DONT SHORT STUFF BUT I WOULD ENCOURAGE THOSE WHO DO TO.
VERY RARELY DO MANAGERS MAKE SUCH HUGE
He really has many factors against him, *His call and reaction to Dram prices. IT IS SYMBOLIC OF SOME FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEM HE IS TRYING TO COVER UP. *Rising prices market not good for DELL
business model *AAPL is really redefining the PCs..and with system on chip PC's, Oracle 199 PC plans, CPQ, GTW deals on information appliances,
wireless features on PC's etc.. HE DOES NOT HAVE TOO MUCH CUSHION FOR COST CONTROL. HE ALSO HAS TO SPEND TO MATCH ALL THIS.. *CPQ is already at bottom, GTW has exclusive deal with AOL, AAPL is VERY WELL DIFFERENTIATED,
DELL IS STARK NAKED and VALUED FOR 2-3 YEARS AHEAD, PEOPLE WILL CASH IN FOR YEAR END.
