I have been in this since the start and own many many thousands of this alog with CHI.Divs are growing every month whe invested back in. I have CHY from as low as 11 to as high as 17. Great value for long term. Nice to see there is a message board at last.
It's a great bargain. Closed end funds are getting creamed. So collect the dividend and get some appreciation. I read an article that these funds have been hammered more than post 9/11 all under the assumption that it's credit related. Whatever.
coldhandluke U R right. For the last 2 yrs I have 17 dif funds in an IRA acc't it seems they are all holding up high yields even though a few have reduced their div by 1 or 2 cents. The following have declared div thru Feb & March 08, they were declared weeks ago. DCA MHY RDR RHY . Phil
I agree. Recently purchased CHY for income. However they do it, they have consistently delivered their steady dividend. No reduction since inception. I'll keep adding at around 13 as that makes the discount 10+% and the div 11%. What's not to like? But, like all Closed End funds, it's a good idea to keep an eye on it occasionally.
