In my neighborood, cars are broken into. Cops report more violent crime and homelessness.
As unemployment rises, the infrastructure cracks.Less cops, less trashmen.
Depression is a historical term, not an economic one.
That leaves us with grainy images of hobo's in Hovervilles, an image that we cannot really relate to today.
Why compare what today;s reality is to an 8 decade old event
This is a modern depression, with modern depression dynamics...and global implications..
This is the shattering of Christendom...at least for the next 4 dreadful years.....
I would love to hear what type of crime spikes other's are hearing about in their neighborhoods....
Cops are afraid to get out of their cars in most major cities. The open border terror war has seen a massive increase int the number of well armed gangsters over the last decade. US Customs first objective is to get as many trucks into the USA from Mexico uninspected.
The Bush Clinton love fest with our Narco terrorist state neighbor to the south has been a profitable one. The free flow of billions of dollars of narcotics into the USA has been official government policy for decades. Obama's surge into the world's leading heroin producing country serves to protect the drug exporters.
A few that got my attention...theives

We have a yellow lab in charge of security at our house. He was 4 when we adopted him. He was not socialized as a youngster with people and he lived with other labs in the backyard of his breeder's home. A handsome male with a blocky head. I thought about returning him because of his aggression towards strangers but no longer.
Now that we are in tough economic times, he is a godsend. He will growl, lunge and go after any stranger that enters our house. 6'5, 260 pound males are terrified when they see him. We have to keep him in the laundry room when visitors are around. He will do anything to protect us and our property. Better than any ADT security system.
crime isn't up in my neighborhood but all of the local Wallmarts (6) have been sold-out on some of the more popular gun ammo for about 3 months.... 38 caliber, 9mm 44's & 45's...maybe a positive correlation?
I think so.
My name is Manus, was born with the name.. and the strange thing is both my parents were unaware of the French doctor who lives 5 centuries ago.
My mother way Maylin and my father liked the US in the name. Now I get called antichrist on yahoo and my friends who dabble in the occult tell me that I am suppose to usher in the end of days....Oh brother....Such pressure on a poor girl...
i think the large attack dog is "key" ...
we have a large dog and a giant dog; they are the best security ...
yesterday, early am, a neighbor who has no dog(s) about a block away was robbed at gun point with one of his own guns ...
3 men took 15 hand guns & rifles, yes 15, a car and a truck ...
last week, next door neighbor's car was broken into ...
a crime a week ... crime appears be on the rise
Big Dogs and 12 Guage Shotgun :)
smilee, I like your security system. Mine's just about the same. We don't don't live in a neighborhood, we're 15 miles out.
Strangest thing, though - I'm hearing of a rash of cars being broken in to steal the airbags of all things. Apparently there's good money being paid by chop shops and body shops for air bags??????
Yup, my neighbor had all his tools stolen but i leave my garage and cars totally unlocked because my boy is watching them 24/7. Yesterday he caught two kids smoking behind the neigbors garage. He hit the fence doing his "thing" and the teenagers bolted like they had been hit by satan himself.
