Civil Disobedience anyone? An SKF gathering in N.O.?

I am half serious about this, and could become serious in a hurry if enough of us genuinely commit to the idea that I will advance below.

I made a post here about a year ago, about wanting to tell my kid not to recite the Pledge of Allegiance at school. With all that I have learned over the past 2 years, there is little remaining to be proud of America for, in my opinion. But this being the 4th of July, and this being a once great country founded on noble ideas, maybe it's time some of us SKFers, who I believe are mostly a caring lot, to really make a plan to take a smidgeon of our "Americanism" back from the hooligans who have diluted and stolen it.

I just read this story over on ZeroHedge, which is based on Anderson Cooper's reporting for CNN today. Basically, our very own US Govt., along with the Coast Guard, both of who now report to BP, have enacted a brand new law stating that anyone within 65 feet of any facet of the Gulf Coast oil or oil spill cleanup without written Coast Guard permission, is subject to a fine of $40,000 and Class D felony charges.

Unfreakingbelievable, no? Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, except on Gulf Coast beaches or in the waters of the Gulf. And you know what? That's just a start.

My idea: let's organize an SKFers meetup, maybe 30 or so of us could make real arrangements to meet up, book a hotel or two, a day or two of lunches and dinners, and then go engage in some good, old fashioned civil disobedience and go to the beach and take pictures.

It's really hard to fathom that we could be arrested, locked up, fined and become felons for taking pictures of the oil or the beach, BUT WELCOME TO AMERICA 2010.

Any takers? I guess we need to find out what a class D felony is and what it means first.

    • Speaking of civil disobedience, more hope and change-2011 W-2 Tax forms

      F Y I
      2011 W-2 Tax forms

Should you want to verify this, go to http://www.thomas. gov/, enter "HR 3590"
in the search box and look for "CRS Summaries." This is what you'll find.

Title IX Revenue Provisions—Subtitle A: Revenue Offset
"(Sec. 9002) requires employers to include in the W-2 form of each employee
the aggregate cost of applicable employer-sponsored group health coverage
that is excludable from the employee's gross income (excluding the value of
contributions to flexible spending arrangements) ."

Starting in 2011—next year—the W-2 tax form sent by your employer will be
increased to show the value of whatever health insurance you are provided.
It doesn't matter if you're retired. Your gross income WILL go up by the amount
of insurance your employer paid for. So you’ll be required to pay taxes on a larger
sum of money that you actually received. Take the tax form you just finished for
2009 and see what $15,000.00 or $20,000.00 additional gross income does to
your tax debt. That's what you'll pay next year. For many it puts you into a
much higher bracket. This is how the government is going to buy insurance for
fifteen (15) percent who don't have insurance. It's only part of the tax increases,
but it's not really a "tax increase" as such; it’s a redefinition of your taxable income.

Also, go to Kiplinger's and read about the thirteen (13) tax changes for 2010 that
      could affect you.

Why am I sending you this? The same reason I hope you forward this to every
single person in your address book. People have the right to know the truth because
an election is coming in November. So vote intelligently, based on your values.
But also adjust your tax withholding, or increase your savings, so that you aren't
surprised and put in a jam when your federal income taxes are due on April 15, 2012.

    • ROTFLMAO... Mr Rich guy with the getaway place in Spain is calling for others to do what he would never do himself... ROTFLMAO

Take your meds rtspayne and go to bed

    • You can twist and shout all you want
Very few of us use our real identities.
Too many grubbers like you to deal with "Twanna". Too many "Twanna",like you, brains at half mast, defending the swine from Israel, who demand like spoiled children to be breast fed from mother America as they bankroll Goldman Sachs to rig the system.
Do you have any idea how ruined we are as a nation by our addictions to ceaseless war making? Does Israel really deserve to be underwritten for worldwide terrorism?
Is rabid Zionism something you condone? If yes, blink your eyes once.

    • james? shinny new id twinkie? i guess you are now a crossdresser. and quite a lengthy post history to boot.

i guess twinkie is as stupid as she appears.

    • RT - I'm very much in agreement with your message of civil disobedience and while I would like to take part in the aforementioned, I fear that 20 or 30 people taking pictures in direct contravention of the rules of this inconvenient cover up would only find themselves down a hole in Cuba, never to be heard from again. Class D felony? Try disappeared . . .

No one, myself included, is interested in raising their head merely to have it whacked by a tyrannical government wielding a big stick unless there is something worth fighting for. Honestly, I have no intention of sticking my neck out for a degenerate s.h.i.t stain like Golda here. His mother probably wouldn't even lift a finger to save her psychopathic little baby boy. At the end of the day, that is what prevents me from lifting a finger to affect any change here . . . America and it's hordes of apathetic losers simply aren't worth it. There is far more interest in the Lebron James bonanza than Correxit . . . sick, no?

If you have a family, you should consider keeping your head down until the Teabaggers or some other group of nut jobs bear the brunt of the initial dragnet so you can then survey the land and go from there.

      Best,
      JC
