    Undervalued Noble with 5% yield!

Most other stocks are too high but some of these drillers have been beaten down and a good time to buy my broker tells me. Hard to beat 5% yield

    • NE is a great deal. Solid company with great management that only sees growth in this industry for the years ahead. The 5% is an added benefit to the long term gains we will see as NE rises back above 40-50-60.....and so on.

    • It's like buying a short term TBill and getting a growing company in the mix. I can deal with that. There will never be enough petroleum above ground for our fearless leaders . . . Somehow people can't figure out that there are fixed prices of refining that won't change no matter now much crude is waiting at the refinery door so to speak.

      • A 3 year Treasury currently yields under 1%, and if interest rates go up (very probable given Fed planned action), you'll be losing value in it as you get your low rate of return.
With NE stock price already destroyed,(in low range of past 5 years) and the supposed weakness in contract pricing expected to last anywhere from 6 months to 18 months, it seems to me that getting a 5% return while you wait for the stock to rebound at least 10% (let's be super conservative) at some point over the next 3 years, buying now seems like a no-brainer. Not only that, but you stand a decent chance of having your cake and eating it too: 5% dividend increases and stock rebounds to 40 at some point over that 3 year could get a total return of 40%+ if things go even moderately right.

    • Why this stock is so undervalued ? Is there anything I am missing here ?

      • egeborlu, it seems as if some on Wall Street think that Williams is running a junk yard, as there is a big emphasis placed on the age of the equipment, fairly or unfairly (is post macondo equipment always really needed in the case of floaters?)...regardless, the price of the stock does not reflect all new-builds and I believe well maintained equipment is not easily measurable and gets little weight as addressed on the last earnings CC I believe. IMHO.
