    taking profits and shorts

I have not posted in a while. I see zebraspit took a shot at me. I will admit I was wrong I thought sure somebody would be bitching I guess I'm use to the tech boards.I took profits today on maa and covered my shorts on some pink sheet garbage thats out there. I did ok on tmeg my last post about tmeg it was trading aroung 1.90 now at 1.09. Got a fax today for some pink sheet company called Twister Networks (TWTN) will take a look at it tonight and see if its a good short. as for Maa I will take another look at it, if it goes to 31.00. For Now I am looking at Clzr and their products. As for income investors you might want to take a look at vlccf they pay an 8.00 a share div. any thoughts zebraspit.

Kind of interesting, but it is obviously a little
opaque(since it is an offshore entity), so hard to find out much info. Management - who knows?
And, the terrorist are looking to blow up oil tankers coming out of that region, so..that kind of worries me.

If you are a trader and speculator, then this stock might be an interesting play -- certainly it is in an hot sector. But "play" is the operative word.
      Where go oil prices?
Probably up, but with all the politics and OPEC/Saudi Arabia stuff, who has any real sense of the future?
And, if you don't really have a good sense of the outlook or the company and its management, then you're totally in the realm of gambling.

Even though I am not a gambler, I've always thought that the (almost) 50/50 bets in Vegas are better odds than most speculative stocks.

      • I don't own it, I just pointed it out, that it had a 8.00 div. If some one owned a 1000 shares that would be a nice check to get, might buy some collage books for your kids. As for Maa at 31 thats the point where I might buy back into the company? If it does not get back to 31 oh well no big deal! To be Honest with you after touring all the apartment communities and see how some of them treat their employees and contractors. I'm not sure I would really want to own any more stocks in these kind of companies. Mr Zebraspit likes to know management which is good, I like to see happy workers and contractors and this I did not see too much of,even at mid america communities.

    • VLCCF??

      Had it since $12.

Be careful, the $8 is due to the $2 per qtr div this time. It fluctuates. Not saying bad buy just be careful.

MAA at $31? Not anytime soon. maybe 4 or 5 yrs from now if economy goes to hell and a handbasket.

You must be a rookie investor/trader
