If you go the MAA home page, click on "Investor" and then click on "Q&A with the CEO" a question is asked about the potential for a stock split. It doesn't sound like it is in the company's near future.

I generally agree with Buffet on most issues. But despite logic being on his side, he is wrong on this one. Statistical studies have shown that stock splits increase share prices by creating a bigger pool of prospective buyers. Not everyone can afford 80K (or whatever it is these days) to buy a share of Hathaway.
