So long as the vast majority of HP employees are against the merger, I doubt institutional investors will vote for it.
What is the sentiment? I believe its strongly against. If there was a majority for, I think current management would be playing it up, inviting inquiry, and commissioning a respected opinion research company to conduct a statistically valid poll.

No, I think they know that employees are the one's that need to make this work and without them, it will go straight down.
Don't get me wrong, if they thought they could make $0.25 and have every employee loose their life savings they wouldn't hesitate to make the quarter. This deal has no one going for it, the employees are just the frosting.
