    You are ignoring the cost savings and productivity growth that more than offset negative effects of outsourcing jobs to cheaper labor or cheaper machines.

    While productivity growth and technological progress are bad for individual workers who are laid off, they are very good for the economy.

    You must believe that the US economy had suffered irreparable harm from using book-keeping software and construction cranes, because they eliminated so many jobs, tax revenues, and blah-blah-blah
