Kerry served on a Swiftboat -sigharb

He served aboard a swift boat, YOU MORON. It was one of the most DANGEROUS duties in Viet nam. The patroled the Mekong Delta and were literally sitting ducks. YOUR TRULLY are an idiot. YOU are just like your coward BUSH. Spreading lies and deceptions. AGAIN, did you serve our Nation, COWARD?

    • I was not in the military, but all of you vets also have my undying respect and gratitude for your services to this country. We need to take care of the troops while they are there and when they return.

      thanks.

    • "looks as though Thrall & I stirred up the pot today."

I was ready to stir some more, but the kids got home, dinner then biking, then badminton, then basketball. I got some lard off my butt last night.

"Read thru some of the posts & the venom coming out of the all-inclusive party is amazing."

Sometimes getting all that venon out is a good thing and when it is pointed out, you have to stop and look inside and say is this really what you believe, is this the best course of action.

Some of the post, venom aside and included, were very interesting. I very much enjoyed reading your post (I get the message you don't like Kerry - neither do I, I just like Bush even less), surprisingly cp0, tiny and sig were very thoughtful also.

Well I hope I was not too arrogant. But today I have to go do all they stuff I didn't do yesterday, the floor's, laundry, dishes, clothes and couple of new books await.

      Man sh!t piles up fast!!

    • Good morning Sig,

I really appreciate the kind words from yourself and others. I don't deserve them, but I too will sleep better tonight. As with most veterans, I received far more from country and corps than I gave. Men (and women) such as yourself, pirate, chief and others that faced the test of war have my undying respect and gratitude.

    • Thanks for your post. I agree. Can't we all put the inflammatory rhetoric aside and build a better country. You can tell from Lurk's posting that the Marines have a special group of people. My son was also a Marine in the first Gulf War.

    • Lurk:

I'm glad you responded. I didn't know if you would. I lost some sleep over your postings as my honor is important to me. I appreciate your response and hope we can work together to make this a better country. You don't know how good you have made me feel.

    • Oh, I guess that it is true that "the man who digs a pit often falls into it".

    • I had to give you a "recommend" for that. It takes a big man to admit to a mistake. Mind you, I am not saying you are right or wrong, just that you yourself believe you were not correct in your actions regarding Sig, and that you are big enough to post as such.

You are an honorable person and certainly a standout on this board. I wish you the best in all things.

    • Lt, you are an amazing person. Very admirable, you are. Have a good evening.

    • Sig,

I disagree with your opinion on Kerry's testimony. I'm just not offended by Kerry's remarks as a young veteran. IMO, atrocities probably occur in every armed conflict. Then again, I never serverd in Vietnam or experienced hostilities other than those imposed by our own civilian population. They weren't real fond of our military in those days. I was a Hollywood Marine that spent my entire tour in California. That being said, my disagreement with your opinion caused me to commit my own atrocity and I launched an all out search to find any discrepency I could. Now, I must eat my words. For some reason, that I don't quite understand, I'm compelled to believe you. I thank you for everything you have done for our country (and me). I sincerely apologize for my actions. Now, I'm going to retrun to my lurking and try not to make a fool of myself (even anonymously).

    • "In this world there are only two tragedies, One is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it. The last is much the worst; the last is a real tragedy! (Oscar Wilde) "(from my post)

(your response) Absolutely correct, if I don't get Kerry I get Bush whom I want even less.

You can't, or won't read a simple sentence correctly. It is: "The LAST is much the worst; The LAST is a real tragedy!"

Now if you get what you want, you get Kerry, so your response doesn't make sense. Or, you are again trying to twist to suit your agenda, which is typical.
