    DOW makes up lost ground

    January 20, 2009: DOW = 7949

    As of this moment,DOW = 8020

Although it is way premature to declare the end of the bear market, it appears the market has digested most of the news (good and bad) of the past three months.

My question: what's a reasonable one-year forecast for the DOW? If we assume the market was overbought at around 15,000, what is a realistic target today?

    • My guess is that the DOW will be a little over 10,000 in a year's time, and then about 13,000 in 2 years. But your mileage may vary, and I've been (very) wrong before.. That's a about a 25%/year gain, which would be very nice for those with their money in the markets now. But any random asteroid could easily make a liar out of me.
