Greatest Lie of 2012: "Romney Didn't Want to be President"

Let me explain a bit about rich people. Really rich people, like Romney, who has $250,000,000 at least.

They don't do anything they don't want to do.

They get up when they want, they go to bed when they want, they do absolutely anything they want, and they do nothing they don't want!

So, we are to believe either, 1) Romney didn't want to be President. Okay, so why did he spend the last 18 years running for it? To please Mommy and Daddy? His Mormon Pope, or whatever funny hat wearing, robe wearing prelate they have in the Mormon cult? or

    2) He and his family are all stone liars.

    I go with 2).

    • And I didn't really want to date that Victoria's Secret model, either!

    • Nobody held a gun to Mitt's head and said "Run for President or I'll pull the trigger." Of course he wanted to be President. And he was clearly stunned when he didn't win, having drunk the same Kool-Aid as Karl Rove and the entire Fox News stable of talking heads.

Having said that, I can also imagine that Mitt breathed a sigh of relief when he didn't win because that job ages you like nothing else. Just look at Obama. He's aged at least 10 years in the four that he's been on the job, and that's about par for the course. I can also imagine that he didn't want himself and his family surrounded by Secret Service agents 24/7 and living in the hermetically sealed bubble that the modern Presidency has become.

I was back in Chicago a year ago and out of curiosity I went to see the Obama house. The Obama family was not in town but there were barricades at both ends of the block the house is on, manned by Chicago police who are there round the clock. Secret Service agents were living in the house and also watching it from rented locations nearby. Nobody who doesn't live on the block is allowed to drive a car in. Etc. And that's when the President was NOT there. I can't begin to imagine the security when he is in town.

Living like that is no fun. And maybe Mitt recognized that fact after the election and decided that losing wasn't such a bad thing after all.

    • hear,, so true.

i don't have to know 'the romney' family individuals specifically to know human nature......
