8:30 AM Initial Jobless Claims: +16K to 357K vs. 340K consensus, 341K prior (revised). Continuing claims -27K to 3.05M.
9:45 AM The Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index slides to -34.4 from -33.9, the 2nd straight dip after a long run of improving readings. The Q1 average read of -34.5 is actually a tad worse than 2012 Q4's -33.9 - which had been the best since 2008 Q1. The survey results continue to be heavily skewed by politics, with Democrats at -19.7, Republicans at -40.5, and Independents (there's no pleasing this crowd) at -43.1.
9:45 AM Mar. Chicago PMI: 52.4 vs. 56.1 expected, 56.8 prior.
Well Obama should have thought about what he was doing when he forced it on everyone. It was his idea maybe you should be writing him and telling him your concerns. He evidently isn't too concerned from his lack of action. Obama has done nothing to lessen the so-called impact that you lobotmized liberals seem to be so concerned about. The reality is that the initali 44 billion has done very little. If jobless claims are up balme on Obama it's all his fault. They are afterall HIS policies.
Never forget that the whole reason this sequester exists in the first place is because the Pukes held the entire Federal Budget hostage for Mr. Koch's redundant tar sludge pipeline.
(They were touting 600,000 jobs back then, even counting transcriptionists by the dozens in every county where they planned on steamrolling landowners with emminent domain! What's up with THAT anyway, a foreign company with but 1150 American employees enforcing emminent domain? I don't get it?)
In the finest of Enron traditions Flint Hills pays Alberta a whopping one percent royalty at the upstream end and Valero pays Texas ZERO for refing the toxic glop on the Gulf Coast, the latter thanks to Republican war hero Cheney, of course!
The sequester exists because we are going down the tubes because the current regime hates America and wants to fundamentally transform it and they are intent on spending us into destruction
You're telling me, libber?
One of my six figure crop subsidy checks is eight days late!
Did people in the educated productive blue states have a hard time paying their taxes this year or what?
Record food stamps and disability along with record amounts dropping out of the work force. All just because of a 2% cut in planned additional expenses. There isn't really even a cut....they get the same money but can't spend the 'more than planned' part. You don't get it do you? You must operate on the theory that if you still have blank checks you must still have money in your accounts.
Seems like it's right in line with the trend - I would have guessed 360K and said this was a 3k win, based on the Obama curve.
Word around the campfire is the govt workers are already hearing they'll be asked to take fewer furlough days - your narrative is all off today.
