    Earnings on 2/18/98

    HWP just announced that earnings will be posted after the bell on 2/18/98

    I wondered where you guys were getting the 2/17 date. Care to explain.

    And the estimate is for .88 as opposed to .87 in 1st qtr 97.

    No growth? I'm betting 15% growth and $1.00 a share.

    Like the bumper sticker says "Get in, Sit down, Shut up, Hang on"

      Earnings will be posted AFTER THE BELL 2/17/98. Check the website

      Olio, you may well have it. 18 Feb is likely the correct day. I had posted 17 Feb as this is what I read according to people "who work for the company", (like that means they know a whole lot about their company right?).

      In any event, HWP's formula is apparently to report 12 working days after the close of the quarter. Normally, that makes 17 Feb correct...except for a slight oversight: 16 Feb is Presidents' Day. Isn't THAT special?! The HWPers may be working that day, but not we traders. The 18th it is.

      (I still wouldn't consider buying until after the announcement: I'd rather give up the inital pop, were there to be one, and get on the longer running train, than deal with a gap down on 19 F

        If you wait till after the earnings is announced, HWP will open at least a few bucks higher. Further, this stock is already
        cheap relative to its peer group. Don't forget that HWP had a strong Christmas sales season and should meet/beat estimates. You
        can wait if you want, but you'll be kicking yourself. And in the event they miss slightly, so what, you hold one of the best
        companies in the business and the price dips a few bucks for a short time. Either way, if you expand your time window, it's a win-win
        situation. Buy HWP while its still cheap!
