I think we are talking about two different scenarios. I don't disagree to sell stocks for retirement or financial purposes. Employees who participated SPP deserve it. But, if someone tries to take over the company (even I don't think it will happen), as an employee, we need to serious consider how can we save the working environment we love. This is a very simple concept. Don't mixed these two scenarios together.
Young fellow employees should respect those who created success for the company in the past. That's why you can work here now. On the other hand, everybody carries the responsibility to make our tomorrow better than today.
To those who love our company, please stop arguing this topic. It's a shame. If something dis-satisfies you, go to talk with your direct supervisor, apply open door policy. That's the HP Way which is precious to us.
