Does that look like the beginning of short covering to any of you?
I'm tempted to start a new long position soon. Maybe even the dec 27.50 calls to try to make some quick money over the next couple days
Yeah, that was a pretty interesting comment. Often the time premium is the only value that options have in the last few days before expiring. I know that playing options is something with a learning curve, nevertheless I have done well with them the last few years.
Still looking for the bottom in this stock, it will probably rise today with the overall market, but will it be only a short detour in a continued downtrend? We will see.
Trading and investment strategies are entirely different.
Thats why I said, "do as you please" High risk, high potential return, I understand that. Its still gambling, because short term price movements are almost always random, its a 50-50 shot.
I certainly was not "bashing". To say that there is no time premium shortly before expiration is simply not true either, but good luck.
No offense here, but buying calls that are expiring in a few days? On a stock that is in a downtrend, and trading in a tight range? Totally amateur move, have you ever heard of a concept called "time decay"?
Go to the casino instead, at least you may get a free drink. If you are going to buy calls, look at January at least. This is of course my opinion only, do as you please, good luck.
AND when companies report earning on option expiration week, it is the BEST time to speculate.
I bought my Joy Global DEC calls on monday for $250 each. I sold them for $700 today.
But i guess that was an amateur move.
You can bash all you want. I do what makes money.
I made 145% on dec calls overnight on BBBY yesterday. The whole concept of "Time Decay" makes sense to buy options on expiration week.
THAT'S WHEN THERE IS NO TIME VALUE!
:/
