I saw a runup the past couple of days and used it as an opportunity to sell this pile of crap..its a loser that Ben Stein pumped. They are going to cut the dividend, the thing just trends lower, and the Wall St Journal weekend edition said Reits are dead. Get rid of this pile before it ruins you. I bought it beat up and it just went lower, I suffered a small loss...glad thats all it was.
SELL THIS PIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Confused kenebob. I bought into RQI this winter and am long. But you highlighted this thread and said that "If this stock was bought rather than sold at this time, it would have returned 3X plus interest." If I look at the chart around March of 2008 when this thread was started, RQI was trading at around 15. Seems like that WAS a good time to sell.
March of 2009 would have been a different story, as price appeared to be around 4.
Am I missing something here?
If you want a stock that hops around like a rabbit (or a toad) speculate with FCX, POT, MON, or MOS. Most folks here are probably long-term investors, looking for dividend income with (hopefully) long-term capital appreciation. You will be able to find what you are apparently looking for elsewhere.
BTW, the stocks I mentioned are good companies, but they are more speculative at these levels, and price can change dramatically from day-to-day, or minute-to-minute.
Ben Stein is not always right (show me someone who is) but his picks tend to be predominantly l-o-n-g term. He usually states this himself with his picks.
Actually if you compare a 5 year chart of FCX, with RQI you'll see FCX has been a much better long term investment. It has also had excellent dividends growth in addition to special dividends payments.
They didn't cut and is goinng to be the same for the next 3 mos., I read the WSJ online version everyday.. no they didn't say that
You obviusly didn't look before you did the post or want this sold off.
This CEF is selling for the same price when it was @ .105 div 5 yrs ago.
This is what I mean about shorts posing as longs to scare everyone. Eveyone do your own homework.
