    A Private Equity Buyout

Most private equity buyouts that are completed by taking out financing and then buying out the shareholders ..the private concern that makes the buyout offer almost invariably retains most of the management team to continue on as managers and execs of the co.--they usually get the same salaries and in addition get newly issued equity in the company...even though interest payments would burden the new co.-with the loan to be paid off...in our case, the interest payments would be far less, IMO, then the costs of running a public co, ie sarbanes oxley etc etc...couple that with the notion that several players will go private very soon Pandora etc and command huge premiums in their respective IPO's..it would make total sense for ATRN management team to take this strategy..ie buyout the current shareowners, then continue on as managers, drawing both salary and receiving newly issued equity that could possibly garner a huge huge premium if and when the new co. goes public again...this is a win win for all. and I suppose this recent BOD resignation is a step in that very direction time will tell

Brilliant calls the shots, and they own most of the stock. I am sure they are content with what own and what they're seeing:

      1. A resurgent interactive division with today's news (and more news to come per cc).
      2. Kazaa subscriptions

The price action as of late is news based. It's the news we haven't seen which interests me the most (i.e., Kazaa subs).

      • yes you are correct that BD controls the show..they will have 75% of the shares at June 2011 end. Sure they may be better off without a buyout unless of course the BOD which is totally controlled by BD tells the BOD of BD that if we dont get a total buyout now, the shares of ATRN that BD holds will go to 0....the forces that are "controlling the show" to paraphrase your words is not really BD, but the market
