Are you sure you didn't lose $700 by selling 10K of the $4.02 shares? It would be a better tax break. Not only that first bought, first sold. Not trying to burst your bubble but money wise in the long run for the year I would take the loss on the $4.02 shares. No change in money out of pocket but difference in gains taxes. Not only that it would lower the amount/average per share you have invested, thus increasing the amount of future profit per share.
