From Appleinsider.com today, on nVIdia GPUs/Optimus in Apple MacBook Pro's refresh:
""In addition to the new Arrandale chips from Intel, Apple is expected to employ a new automatic switching of dual graphics modes on future MacBook Pro models. The system would allow switching between integrated and discrete graphics processors automatically, allowing use of Nvidia's latest graphics technology and also improving battery life.""
The MCP 89 and MCP 99 (either or both) will be in Apple's refreshed iMac pro, as I speculated earlier on this board.
The originally envisioned ION2 (40 shaders) may be held back at the request of some OEMs (as they are still selling systems based on the original ION) and as a result of a possible mute agreement with Intel (per. Fudzo if you trust him). The technology for ION2 is apparently there, but the overall profitability could also be an important consideration.
I think the specs of MCP89/99 will be revealed at CeBIT. Jen Hsun talked about chipset business revival at the the recent earnings cc, with special mention of MCP 89 and 99.
