All I know the inflation problem has yet to hit - I am buying gold/silver coins as a hedge also.. Now is a good price with the dollar on the rebound.. I hope the market keeps up for a while - we all need a boost on our stock investments... I did well on SKF - bank short stock - It's at a good point for entry.. Finance will bottom again next Qtr. as well in 2009..
Roharig5, I'm glad you got your coins. You sound like a guy who doesn't like extreme volatility (especially when it moves against you. Do any of us?). I bought SDS last October but covered on the initial rise above $65. Your choice of SKF seems like winner and your instincts, I believe, are SPOT-ON! I will consider joining you. I will use COVERED CALLS in Pan American at the extreme above $45/share and I have already set up the paperwork with my broker. If my stock is called away, I'll buy it back on the drop and pocket my winnings .. plus my accumulated profit position. (Talk about counting your chickens, hunh?) dcp
Good for you! Often it's tough to step in there and buy when a stock is getting hammered. I sometimes wonder if I'm trying to catch a falling knife. We may wonder just how low a stock price may go before a reversal finally occurs. The pros tell us that we should wait until the reversal occurs before buying, but I'm not so sure. Anyhow, IMO you made a wise move. We both know that you'll eventually be way ahead as a result of your purchase today. SS
