Mince38, Seems to me that Gen. Patton was a classic warrior in the mold of the ancient Greeks and Romans and what he lacked as a politician was more than offset in his leadership and strategic battle skills. It was his lack as a politician that proved his undoing and sadly there are no places for warrior heros in our culture, today. Political choices that cost thousands their lives and treasure are easily made by those who have never spilt an ounce of blood. Timidity has cost us more than lives and fortune, and now threatens our very sovereignty and the lives of our children. Dialogue with men such as Ahmedinejad and Putin are not only impossible but mean little to those not possessing honor. Statesmen look to the next generation. Politicians look to the next election.
