I am excited about the second half of the year. Early last year we reinvested in our product roadmap and really focused on differentiated products. And to be quite honest, we just executed better than we had the previous year. Over the last 12 months we’ve just executed better on the new product development and design win pipeline. So I feel fairly good about the pipeline going into the year. We need some more time for that to roll out, and I expect it to hit sometime in the second half.
Mobile Devices is a big part of that, and our premium filter products are also a big part of that. But we also have – we were a little late to the market with our broadband MMPA products, what we call the 90/50, but when we launched it and compared to the competition, clearly it’s the best product out there with the best efficiency or current drain performance across all the bands. So I think we are getting traction, and I feel quite happy with the second half outlook.
CEO- TriQuint has continued to keep ourselves ahead of the pack with improved performance on the products that we offer. The products are fundamentally BAW and advanced SAW technologies, and they address this growing class of filters associated with 4G or LTE expansion and the intersection of crowded spectrum, particularly wifi.
--So at least for the foreseeable future we think we’re well positioned. That market is just starting to open up. Our revenue for LTE products in 2011 was in the range of $1 million, and in 2012 that grew to in the range of $6 million to $7 million. And again, we’re very early in that space. A lot of that was specialty premium filters, and that will continue to grow I think for TriQuint in 2013 and beyond.
GUIDENCE- the first half of 2013 may be a little week-So we are pushing through that first half, maintaining R&D investments, expanding our product portfolio, expanding our customer base and investing in capacity to set up what I think will be a fairly strong second half, yielding full-year growth. We’ve got one of the healthiest new product lineups in Mobile Devices and one of the fullest and healthiest design win tunnels that I’ve seen for some time.

      The base station market I think is going to have a fairly strong year, again driven by LTE and TV LTE deployments worldwide and some really good design wins we had with some key customers;
OUTLOOK RF content in mobile devices is increasing dramatically, fueled by skyrocketing demand for
high-speed data communications and anytime, anywhere connectivity. Today’s smartphones
have as much as ten times the RF content of 2G or voice-only phones. Many next-generation
smartphones will contain up to 14 frequency bands, • Escalating data traffic from smartphones and tablets along with a continuing demand
for fixed broadband access are straining network capacity. Highly efficient GaAs
and GaN-based technologies can reduce power consumption while enabling
capacity expansion in wireless base station, CATV, fiber optic and millimeter
      wave networks.

      • "MMPA products, what we call the 90/50, but when we launched it and compared to the competition, clearly it’s the best product out there with the best efficiency or current drain performance across all the bands " The important thing is if the customers agree it is the best product , then not one high end smartphone developer would ever pass on a product that delivers less current drain & best performance. Triquint saying this, if it is a true proven fact would have 100% of the high end design wins. Can we really count on this?????

I have not heard of any analyst day this year , did I miss this or do they have nothing to talk about ???

    • Investigate what dumb dumb? The fact that TQNT guided 10% lower REV next quarter and 10-15 cent loss versus break even previous guidance? Also add on a 5 mil charge for scrap..#$%$ is that? Next quarter is going to be terrible for them. This stock is DEAD MONEY for the next 6 months.

      Sentiment: Strong Sell

      • stock will go much higher ,if (and I agree that's big IF ) "street" decides that :
        a) there is no more skeletons in the closet
        b) tqnt finally get it together and will have strong (and PROFITABLE ) growth 2H and beyond
"'they" will not wait for 1Q and 2Q results
-at least tqnt has what to sell (many new products coming)
        .....will see after Barcelona ...
too bad ( there is always something with this company) they were late with TQM7M9050 to win Galaxy S4
