I am still waiting the volume spike to occur in Ebay before I will cover. One thing for sure is these Ebay longs are living in total denial. It is only once they finally snap out of it and sell will I cover. Unfortunately for them their inability to sell here means only one thing. The low will not hold folks. I have stated since the beginning I would know if the low would hold once we got here and we are now within 80 cents of the low and I have yet to see significant selling. It is this selling that is necessary to put in a low. Yes you longs must sacrifice your shares so it can go up. Sad but true how the market works. They will be their own demise by not selling.
no, not giving you a hard time. you are funnie!!! you said you didn't know whcih way to play the market, so I suggested straddles and spreads
Spread: Buying a call and buying a put. You are betting the stock will move one way or the other, but not stay in a trading range.
Straddle: Sell a call and sell a put. You are betting the stock will stay in a trading range, and you can collect the premium(s) from both (hopefully).
ok, I am up again now.....
Did anybody see James Grant on NBR? He is really excellent. Very smart guy.
yes i did but before i answer that...what is straddle and spread...i am concerned that the other guy is giving me a hard time...no pun intended...is there such a thing as a straddle and spread???
>>>>>>Definitely not a retail stock. Ebay doesn't sell anything. They only provide the venue. Might as well call the classifieds a retail stock.
The only thing ebay has to depend on is the trust of its buyers and sellers and that is fading fast>>>>>>
Yahoo seems to think it is a retail stock, and it does make its revenue from the sale of goods. But that is why I said it is a good question. It isn't really a tech stock either in the way that Intel or Google are.
Trust between buyers and sellers is fading? Not that I have noticed with millions of auctions taking place. I do think it was a little different in the beginning when we depended solely on trust and feedback. Now that the scammers have come into it - although still a very tiny percent - we have additional protections and can buy with credit cards. I remember when 25 was a high feedback number and you had to send a check! :)
