Ebay is nickel and dimeing the established sellers here. These are the accounts that make up a good portion of the income every month. Alot of these people are leaving... have started their own websites. Established sellers are constantly driving people to their own sites, when the volume reaches a certain point they leave altogether and they can always auction a thing or two to keep driving biz to their sites. I am not sure what this is doing or reflecting in the stock price short term but you can bet a trend will be developing here. I know of specialty sites that attract sellers of certain items and they seem to have healthy growth... competion is comming from many different areas. When the day comes that Ebay does not let people advertise their own site, will be the day of reckoning. And i belive it is going to happen! Paypal is now holding sellers money? Belive me when i say sellers are looking for a way out....... They were and still are the dominant player in this space... but i see them giving up ground to where ever the competion can take it away... and they are Taking it away! Just one sellers opinion.
Listings are going up! But what kind of listings? They are people who are selling one or two items ..... than you don't see them for a couple of months and than they might come back 6 months later and sell a item or two. I am talking about the people that do volume here, Store sellers etc. I'm talking about the sellers that are writing checks for 200.00 and up every month. Their are hundreds of thousands of people selling a few items a year here. I'm refering to the bread & butter accounts... THEY ARE LEAVING!
