    eBay Wants Its Sellers Back

    We are ebay

"We are ebay, we are soooo big, we don't haver to give a rat's a***s about anything or anybody!
We are ebay: for every user we suspend, 3 or 4 will always sign-up again, to replace them. Neither googlebase, nor google checkout will ever be a threat to us at ebay, because we can do what we want!"

    greedy greedy

I use to sell on ebay about 5 years ago. At that point it was still very do-able for the "little guys" to make some extra cash. Then they started hiking up their fees like every few month to completely cut off the profits of lower priced items. Eventually I said forget it and walked off. Never used their site again... to sell or buy!

I'm still kinda get pissed off at myself when having to use paypal for payments buy nowadays there seems to be no way around it.

    Fees etc

I find ebay offensive in general. Their newest scam is when you sign up for a store expecting store fees and also being "given" store reports for free. However when you choose to close your store they do not also cancel those reports and the "free" reports are now a monthly charge. Just another way big business is screwing millions of people a dollar at a time.

    ebay

I notice that most of the comments are posted by sellers. I am writing from a buyer's perspective; and I love ebay. Why? specifically because of all the complaints: With ebay I have a greater choice of items (and sellers) that I will ever get from some of the private online stores. That is because there will always be sellers willing to deal, unlike those "power sellers" that have posted on this blog. The best way to get anything free on ebay is to do the following: bid on an item, wait 5 days, file a claim against the ebay seller, leave negative feedback, provide a phoney paypal transaction number. The poor seller will be more than happy to now send you the merchandise FREE, since, in return, you promise you will agree on a MFW a mutual feedback withdrawal. A seller is helpless, as ebay suspends sellers, for as little as 3 negatives received, even, if they get 1000 positives in the same timeframe. ebay and paypal ALWAYS rule against sellers, so a buyer can do what they want. Once you receive the FREE merchandise, be nice enough to let ebay and paypal know you got it, and move on to the next seller on ebay you can con. My friends and I have used this approach often, and gotten great merchandise, psp, iphones, playstation games and more. Thanks ebay. Now, I read the feedbacks of sellers, whose items I ant to bid on. In leaving, I see the comments listed and am sympathetic with the sellers position, but I remind you that it is a consumer market and the buyers on ebay are your rulers.

    EBay

I don't like the new policies either. I also feel you're just working for Ebay and Paypal and unless you are willing to lose money on the items you're selling forget it.

In response I started building my own web site too but it will use paypal to take payments too. Other programs were to expensive to buy or too complicated to use and frustrating.

For small business it isn't easy to have an affordable e-commerce presence on the web.

    • Online auction powerhouse eBay (EBAY) reported weak fourth quarter numbers yesterday, as revenues slipped from a year ago for the first time in the company's history. Attributing its troubles to a stronger dollar (which hurts revenues from overseas markets) and the global economic slowdown, CEO John Donahoe is spearheading efforts to shift sales away from its core auction business, focusing instead on traditional, fixed price sales.

"Donahoe is spearheading efforts to shift sales away from its core auction business, focusing instead on traditional, fixed price sales."

Does this mean no more auctions?

    • I think elickme and kekeke, but not Gino is right, though.

The fundamental problem with eBay TODAY is:

Because of the unfair eBay feedback-system,

BUYERS CAN NOW BLACKMAIL SELLERS, AND GET FREE GOODS!!!!

    • The sale of skype will bring in billions to ebay!

Ebay sellers are the scum of the planet, hate to say it,
      but that's the truth!

      • the sale of skype will do nothing...
...too many better competitors are out there.

        GET OUT OF EBAY NOW!!!!

Another Pack of eBay senior management are unloading again!

THE RATS ARE LEAVING THE SINKING SHIP.

After the eBay share sell-offs, the float is quickly bought up by mislead long-term investors, who believe the Skype sale will bring a huge cash-windfall. It won't, because
there is nothing proprietary about it. Several new technologies have been developed which are superior to skype. By completing its offer for Gmarket, with the eBay shares dropping 53 cents, or 3 percent,
to $17.27 in morning trading, investors punished eBay immediately- realizing that eBay has no viable long-term business plan, nor any idea of how to save its sinking ship. Thus, eBay shares a not a viable purchase.

Now, ebay is even offering a "generous" 5-free listings per month, while other websites, profitable to sellers, like ebid, bonanzle and ecrater are offering ALL LISTINGS FOR FREE (ALWAYS)! ecrater, in effect, is 100% FREE (no fees, fvf, anything), UMLIMITED LISTINGS, FULLY FREE.

eBay is NOT A LONG-TERM investment, their crash IS COMING this fall, 2009 !!!
