In September, eBay rolled out a limited escrow system in Germany and Austria in which it accepts payments from buyers directly for certain transactions, and only forwards payments to sellers when they show the item has been sent to buyers.
Previously all transactions and payments had been between buyers and sellers.
The better implementation of an escrow system would be to hold the BUYER'S funds against the very likelihood that the buyer employs some flimsy excuse, outright lie or filthy scam to all to easily get the transaction reversed.
