eBay Inc. (EBAY) Message Board

From an old ebay seller .... they are going the wrong way.

Ebay used to be a great place to sell stuff. That's how they made a lot of money off their 15% commission. Back in the day it was worth it. Now all they have is a platform built on an out of control automated monster that is unable to interact in the slightest with their loyal buyer / seller customers. Look at the messages on this board. It will reveal that those of us who remember the old ebay are pretty disappointed with today's ebay.. I recently researched their website to find out who I might contact at Ebay governance or anywhere else in the organization, just to give them some constructive criticism. It's not possible. There is nobody you can contact. I think the big wigs are in hiding. Just to set the record straight, I am not a stockholder, nor do I intend to be. I don't have the money to invest. It's just sad to see a former great company turn into little more than a shell. And I'm not a basher either. If somebody can give me the e-mail address of a real person I can call or send this note to, I will be thrilled to offer my suggestions on how to make ebay a better company. It comes down to I wish they would go back to the old days. If they do, they might also make it worthwhile to own ebay stock..

    • If I may add- it's no longer (and hasn't been for awhile) about the eBay Marketplace, it's about eBay the company. The big focus is on Paypal and payments along with stock performance. Initially, people were buying into all of the hype that ex-Bain John Donahoe brought to the table (investors have a lovefest for Bain people). And he did "turn things around" - but not for the marketplace to be better, but to just make eBay money (not a bad thing, but there is always a loser with that kind of M.O.). At least, before, it was a win for buyer, seller, and eBay. But that wasn't good enough for eBay - they selfishly, greedily, and arrogantly had to be the ONLY winner. People have been taking note these last couple of years. That is why this stock will never reach 60.
