    Something I don't understand?

Ebay said, I thought, that their initial offering
would be at, or around, $18.00. But, from all I can
gather, the stock opened at, or around, $45.00. Can
someone explain this to me, please?? Could it be that the
first days trading history was not made available. Or,
could it be that the company brokering the stock only
let it open at $45.00?? If so, who got the difference
    between $18.00 & $45.00???

    I'm terribly confused!
Could someone straighten me out on this?
