I (heart) ebay, and congrats to all the people raking it in selling tomorrow morning. I dropped out after making a few IPO chasing mistakes, was gunshy when it dipped down near 30, and didn't buy. (The money was already tied up...) Shows you what I get for looking at fundamentals and going against my instincts :-)
(Don't worry. I'm doing OK with another little gamble with pretty good fundamentals.)
BTW - ebay and onsale are no more competitors than discount stores and department stores. They compete in the overall market, but not directly against each other. Anyone who can't see this is either not using eBay, or doesn't understand people who buy and sell in the person-to-person economy. If you don't know what I'm talking about, please, don't even bother to dis this stock.
More Religion - Classified listings are an unappreciated medium. It's about people power. It's about smart databases. It's going to be an increasingly large part of your life. Get on this trend and have fun.
