I think this is a good entry point, I would buy on the dips. I think it is highly unlikely that Exxon will buy MRO now since the new CEO is from Exxon. Why would he leave for his big payday and promotion and then be acquired by the company he just left. He was high up enough at Exxon to probably know or be privy to their acquisition plans.
I wish, and have been wishing for a decade that someone was going to acquire MRO. Compared to other E&P energy companies, MRO has shown no growth comparatively. Plus the dividend sucks comparatively. I assumed, apparently incorrectly, that the MRO/MPC would provide for an MRO acquisition, and then screwed myself again by casting my lot with MRO and converting my MPC to MRO. Yes I'm venting and frustrated and even moreso when I look at a shill of a company like ASH breaking $100 this week. MRO should hire some on Wall Street to pump this POS.
