Isn't it bad enough that America is sending millions of jobs to China, without having Chinese nationals working in the USA. When is the US government going to do something to help Americans and not the rest of the world?
This insider trading case is a great example of the lack of respect that the Chinese have for America and our laws.
Oh come on now the U.S Military is providing the Chinese security while they mine the copper out of Afghanistan at the expense of the U.S taxpayer. FACT.So get off the pot saying china is doing nothing for us.
Nice post and we agree!
Thanks
....and the Toyota recall over the last 18 months was built where?
Hi There....
Easy on the "you" comments, I'm a caucasion American working in an Int'l company that get's to deal with the daily issues created by "free trade".
Intel's recall occured yesterday on their newest "cougar" chip. Agree with you on all aspects of "making our own bed"....listen, you get what you pay for. It's that simple.
Products all over the world are manufactured by good and bad manufacturing proceses, by good and bad quality standards; I'm only saying it's not fair to blame all on the "chinese". That's a "give me a break statement".
The Chinese Solar / Green Industry is so far ahead of the rest of the world it's crazy and it's a home grown industry....Their gov't is pouring billions into the industry. High Speed rail will connect most of China major cities within the next 5 years and we can't even get a train between Orlando, Tampa and Miami....
You make lots of good points and my home in Southern Florida was also included in the Dry Wall recall, so I'm impacted like many others....again, just think we need to lay off of the "Chinese" blame game / poor, poor, me the victim...Need to be more proactive and get things fixed, not blame others for which we also have culpability.
At any rate, go SGEN!
Prc4me
I absolutely agree. The product that costs the most is the low priced Chinese product.
Chinese = Cheep = Doesn't work right = Need to replace.
Oops, I see SGEN going up. Got to go count my money.
Please, Give me a break!!
China's success is based on the fact that your labor costs are 10% of other nations. you don't have the labor costs, safety regulations etc. how many safety recalls have Chinese product had? How about that Drywall??? Billion dollar hit for my industry. What about the recent recall on baby strollers which can collapse and kill? what about lead content in children's toys?
Intel and the like are faced with survival cost cutting to compete with STOLEN technology knock offs coming out of china and NEWS FLASH, Intel is now producing those chips in CHINA to compete with the "Godson" chip!!!
There hasn't been a Intel recall in 10 years.
Chinas economy and sucess is a built on a copy cat statagy of stolen ideas manufactored without the regulatory restraints mature economys face. A bit of the wild west over there.
How about something new?
Name one!
You guys are on a roll, I don't see Ameriacans doing anything about it. Our government won't stop the imbalance and us americans will never pay for our higher price products. we have made our own bed.
....and Intel's chip recall from 30 mins ago that resulted in the shares being halted is a great example of America's superior quality.
....and the WTO finding that Boeing rec'd illegal subsidies is a great example of the very thing that we loath about Chinese gov't interference in business.
The R&D departments of US companies rank amongst the best in the world and it's one of the reasons that we keep climbing the manufacturing ladder so that other countries can also move up the manufacturing food chain.
I'd just like to see people quit bashing China for taking jobs away from the US when US labor unions, taxes, crazy regulations, etc., force the US manufacturers to go off shore. Why don't these same people complain to their congressional offices / law makers about making business and manufacturing in the US more friendly rather then being closet racists hiding under the banner of "Free Trade".
PRC4ME
The U.S. should practice "free trade" by taxing imports from China and then spend the proceeds foolishly. Set the tax at the same rates the Chinese tax American imports coming into their country. Also, stop importing that which we can make here in the U.S. We call that a Job Creation Program so that Americans buy more stuff. Send engineers to China and learn their secrets. Hehehe.
You clearly have no idea what tax rate US imports to China have compared to those that Chinese imports into the US have.....try to give me at least 5 examples of where US imports into China are subject to unfair taxes in comparison to Chinese imports coming into the US.
Wow....you're a twit...
1. Martha Stewart showed the world just how much Americans respect America and its laws when it comes to investing. Why should we hold any particular ethnic group to a standard that even the very "american" Martha Stewart can't achieve.
2. America sends jobs to China so you can buy your 55" LCD at Best Buy for $299.
3. Foreign nationals are invited to work in the US because they actually have math and science skills.
You're still a twit.
PRC4ME (Yes, PRC...Peoples Republic of China....)
Martha Stuarts??? actions are not that of a nation.
The Chinese don't Honor anything that isn't in there best interest. If I had my way, we would tariff anything coming in and level the playing field.
Twit????
you a weasel!
I avoid buying Chinese products but it's dificult.
I wonder if they will copy our drugs down the line!

Yeah because no AMERICAN would ever trade on insider info, sheeesh
I believe Bernie Madoff was as American as they come...and so were the boyz at Enron...Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling...greed (pride and selfishness) see no color.
I'm not talking about Americans, I'm about Chinese. If you want to talk about Americans going to China and pulling this kind of stunt, then the Americans would not come back alive. I was talking about Chinese coming here and pulling this scam. The Chinese should have better behavior while they are here as our guest performing work in America.
