85% of all car accident victims had eaten carrots within 2 months of the accident. Therefore, our studies conclude that eating carrots will eventually cause car accidents at an alarming rate. As a result, we are recommending that all grocers include a black box warning on the sale of carrots, as they "may" cause the consumer to eventually be involved in a car accident.
It is a good analogy, but a better one is having a Black Box warning on the box sales of iPhones, Android and other smartphones that these devices can cause accidents. The improper use of driving a car and using a smartphone simultaneously, can and have caused car accidents. However it is always the proper use and implementation of a product, that is always the wisest and safest course of action and some warnings are just meant for those that will inevitably follow its' wrong and improper use. I think this warning will cover them from future lawsuits of such unfortunate circumstances, and put them in better light with the FDA.
