The last time there was a great gain last April, FVCX came out with crushing news after the bell. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, I need a new car. Please, no news.
.
GTNR ( Gentner Communications) is one of the very
few profitable audio/video communications companies.
It is growing at 35-40% per year, has outstanding
management, and has a very modest P/E of 23 with earnings of
.31 for past year and price of 7 5/8. This growth
rate is expected to continue for many years. This
could be a real sleeper that has barely been discovered
yet.
against its competitors. To understand what FVC
is offering(a gigantic undertaking), go to FVC home
page and hit "Read about Broadband Video Services"
(you need to have pdf reader to read this document,
takes about 20 minutes to download). This is HUGE!! I
don't see how could LU/CSCO/NT not wanting to gobble up
FVCX.
in 10-Q:
In May 1999, the Company acquired
a controlling interest in FVC.COM (UK) Ltd. Since
its inception, FVC.COM (UK) Ltd. has been a
distributor of the Company's products in the United Kingdom
and the Middle East. The Company acquired 52% of the
outstanding stock of a newly incorporated holding company
that owns 100% of the shares of FVC.COM (UK) Ltd. in
exchange for a cash payment of $750,000. The primary
motive for the acquisition was to provide financial
resources to FVC.COM (UK) Ltd.'s operations in order to
expand the Company's presence in the United Kingdom and
Middle East markets.

What are some other vidio companies besides polycom and fvcx worth looking at.
I agree that TGCC is a speculative investment and
I have never claimed otherwise on this board or any
other. You say my posts are pathetic and ridiculous
without giving them due consideration and I am NOT
supposed to take that personally? I have consciously tried
to keep an open mind, and as a result of that
effort, I am now a FVCX shareholder. If you want to prove
how astute you are, why don't you discuss the
advantages and disadvantages to different approaches to this
problem? What, for example, is the fundamental flaw in the
assumption that a gigaflop processor (G4/AltiVec) is
required to compress and decompress multiple data streams
in real-time? TeraGlobal can deliver their solution
(at 30FPS) WITHOUT A HARDWARE CODEC. The solution is
largely software-based, which means that the software
CODEC in every communication terminal on the network
can be upgraded without having to touch it as
enhancements are made available. I don't claim to have all the
answers, I am a seeker of knowledge (and, well, profits,
of course). It is you who has his hands firmly
clasped over his ears. Too bad.

Cisco paid $6.7 billion for a company with less promise than FVCX.
