Hi, On my real time quote screen, there are several collumns, namingly: "Last", "Bid", "Ask" "Size(1)"...."Size(2)", "Hi"..
On the first "Size", it is a number such as 100 , 200, or 1000 ...
On the second "Size", it is numbers such as "10 X 50". I was told that the first number (10) on this collumn multiply by 100 is equal to the number of shares someones want to purchase at Ask price. The second number (50) multiply by 100 is equal to the number of shares someones want to sell at Bid price.
Can anyone confirm or denny this theory for me please? and also what does the first Size collumn mean please?
Hi "size" is indeed the amount of shares bought or sold. If it says 10x50 it means there are 1000 shares available for purchase at the "bid"price and 5000 available for sale at the ask price. Simply add 2 zeros to the end of any size to arrive at the correct multiple.
I stress the word "cautiously", because I have seen this stock move up nicely on no news, only to be battered down again by people selling into the up market!! I hope this time it is for REAL, and that some IMPORTANT news will come out ---not those little press releases by the company!!!
