Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. Message Board

I'm buying more Potash. Waiting for the price to drop. Any suggestions?

I have about 1,000 shares and would like to add more. Any comments on how low POT may go? Is there a better play in Potash than POT? I don't want to buy any more VALE because of their exposure to iron and I don't trust Russian companies.

    Sentiment: Hold

rich_thepot_head and abbaman7 I took a look at SQM and I tossed in a low ball limit order for 100 shares at $51.00. SQM is not a pure play potash company. I like the lithium part of their business and no nothing of the iodine and chemical end of things. I like Chile since it's the best run South American country and for the most part they understand and respect capitalism. If my order goes through I'll start paying more attention and maybe buy more.
      Thanks for the tip...maybe.

      Sentiment: Buy

    • It is close to the bottom and an extreme no-brainer buy. You can never find the exact bottom and if you try you may as well play the lottery. Several truths - the populations is growing, agricultural areas are less in size due to urbanization, and fertilizers will be used to offset this difference. Good luck

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • If you want a potash producer and don't like Russia, that leaves POT, MOS, SQM, K&S, ICL and (to a lesser extent) AGU. Or take a flier on a junior.

    • If you look at how the stock has traded over the past 2 years, what you will find is that when it starts to troll near its bottom, it hasn't dropped below the mid to upper 30's so one could argue from that that anytime the stock is trading in that range is a good time to add to one's position. Of course, that is no guarantee of success. There really are no pure potash plays although POT comes closest in terms of the revenues it derives from potash sales. You might also take a look at SQM.
