Just got back from weekly dinner with broker- He said Icahn was gearing up for the final beatdown and that with the recent JCP beatdown Whackman has lost clients , they gave the required 30 day withdraw notice. Carl says "This little punk is toast man. I'm gonna squash him like the bug he is".
Thats what my broker said Carl said today.
Pump and Dump
An illegal practice in which investors attempt to artificially inflate the price of a stock by disseminating inaccurate or misleading information. These investors have a long position on the stock in question and seek to inflate the price in order to sell their shares for a higher profit. Pumping and dumping violates securities laws and can lead to hefty fines. Victims often stand to lose a good deal on pumping and dumping as the price of the stock usually falls to its previous level in a relatively short period of time.
Doug Kass just did that with Aapl on weekly call options and sold after he gave a false rumor, all while giving a play-by-play on twitter. He is still the toast of wallstreet, and the SEC will never go after him. I would have to say pump and dump isn't illegal.

AUTHOR Janice Hopkins
Murder charges filed against Kermit Gosnell, a doctor who operated an abortion clinic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and nine associates for allegedly killing babies who had been born alive and for the death of a refugee woman due to an overdose of painkiller. According to Gosnell's lawyer, William Brennan, the doctor believed that he had provided medical care in an impoverished area for 40 years. A report from grand jury proposed the prosecution of Gosnell and his staff for a long list of offences.
