I see all the negative press, I presume its based on the poor earnings this last quarter. I/m not new to KFN but it is the first time I'm looking to purchase it. Why would this go much lower than mid 9's if book value is around 10.00? With the dividend in place I don't see this going much lower. My main concern is the DOW being in record territory might drag this stock down if things reverse.
finally just picked up some today after selling a 1/3 position at around 11 earlier this year. It hurt since my cost basis was 8.4 and picking up some at 9.44 affects it but I don't think it will go much lower. will fill out the rest of my position only if goes below 9 which I hope only happens with a general market correction and not problems with KFN. meanwhile just turned on div reinvestment last month and for 2014
hi. if your cost basis was 8.4 which is pretty darn good when did you get in? What prompted you to get back in? I like the stock but have only owned it about 6 months. When do they send their yearly K reports? Is it by March 1st?
from what I can discern there is concern about their amortizing CLOs and how they are going to put that money to work and when will it pay off in CF. I know the deal they did with XCO will drain cash until '15, when it should start to pay off nicely. Also, they are moving towards a cash yield vs total return strategy. Will that have a tax impact to units? All in it seems like a 9+ yield, 2-3% growth, and a 8% discount could produce some decent return....
I don't believe that things are broken to the point where the dividend will be affected much. I will sit back and watch this over the next 30 to 45 days to see what it does. If it hangs in at these levels I will keep adding. I don't mind waiting if they pay me to do so.
Picked up 2000 at 9.43 and was gonna wait for a little runup and dump a thousand to lower my cost basis, but wasn't expecting it to happen this quick. Now I have second thoughts and might keep it all. With a .0933% yield at 9.43 I'm thinking hold. I'm 66 and my whole portfolio is Dividend payers. GLTA
