I own this stock, just not sure why price is rising so much...with the impending end of lp...no need to copy and paste that this stock ends 20 years after the last dude died..I just dont know why it keeps going up...doesnt make any sense to me.
You haven't read the many previous posts which covered this. There will be NO liquidation distribution (other than what they have in petty cash). After termination on April 2015, the mineral rights revert back to Conoco. They are NOT sold with the proceeds distributed to unitholders. This is clearly stated in the prospectus and you can find the relevant except in recent posts on this board.
I don't know how he comes up with the $8 estimate, but bottom line is that you get the distributions for another 4 1/2 years and that is it. There is no significant liquidation distribution at termination.
Why is it not higher? Gold is up about double--so the iron ores should/could advance in the same range. Might be able to get enough yield in the short life span remaining plus the write off of value to make it worth this days price and maybe tomorrows too.
Good question, earlier. Now it's Why is this stock down so much? Goes to its 52 week high earlier, now down over 3%, and a range so far today of almost $20/per share. Sheesh! No news on the next dividend until Dec. Very strange.
