Stinger made an interesting comment when he mentioned the low inventory at HOTT and the resulting compulsion to buy those two $39.95 shirts. I've never been a retailer, but I see the wisdom and psychology of keeping just those few shirts on stock. The subliminal message is "I'd better buy these now while they're still in stock. I may never see them again." Neat little trick. It also emphasizes the need for an efficient distribution network to keep hot-selling items in stock.
