Have watch this stock over the last couple months. Can't help but feeling the bottom has been reached concerning recent accounting problem . Price seems to be hanging in the high $30/$31 range. I feel GMCR should start to move up, I see more up days than down. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
The bottom of the channel is 27/sh. Or, longer term channels are 23-24/sh like Sas says. I would buy more at those levels as long as the long term focus remains which I think it will. I hope they report earnings on the 24th of Nov.
According to Salt, they normally announce the date for release of earnings a week to the day of when they actually release. I checked tonight and there was still no announcement as to a date. I'm betting it will be the last day. Although if the news is really bad announcing the day after Thanksgiving takes the most watchers out of the game so it would have the least immediate repercussion/blowback from the market.
I haven't posted in a while. Just watching GMCR blow thru their expected earnings date without saying a peep. I agree with the shorts on this one - I will be shocked if they come out without material damage to earnings and the stock price. Wouldn't be surprised if they blow their 60 day 10k deadline 11/26 as well. That endangers the Van Houtte closing. No 10k - no loan. There are no good scenarios I can think of that would justify creating so much doubt about their financial integrity.
Having said that, there are positive signs as far as price action. There are believers out there that are buyers at these levels. Also, I don't see the analysts "freaking out" over the SEC issue as well as the delayed reporting.
Bottom line: Where I was a strong buyer I am now a strong "hoper".
Well said Amer. I expect they will have what is normally is considered fantastic growth in 2011, just not 66.2%. I am looking for around 50% growth - maybe $1.07 eps 2011.
What I find interesting about the “analysts” is they are all lined up exactly with the numbers that GMCR has guided them. That just makes me feel weird, not one of these guys thinking outside the box. No wonder they are silent, they can’t do anything if GMCR doesn’t spoon feed them.
What was the final result on the SBUX single cup machine? Some places seemed to say yes they are building, others that it was a miss-quote. Left me a bit confused.
The SEC inquiry is still going to be weighing down the stock price. We need a resolution on that, and we need to get past what I suspect will be less than hoped for earnings for the pps to move in a serious way.
