No patent so look for America's Choice K-Cup, White Rose K-Cup, Great Value K-Cup, Safeway K-cups, Greenway K-cups, & NoFrills K-cups.
Today i saw starbucks coffee ground on sale (2 dollars less), SBUX kcups on Sale(2 dollars less) in krogers. Sbux is the only one on sale now. I am not sure if they have a margin or revenue pressure. I also met a couple (the guy was my neighbor once) who bought sbux k-cups and Donut-house k-cups. In a casual conversation, i found that they bought Keurig machine for Sbux-kcups but when they tried donut house k-cups from the sample pack, they loved it. They also love SBUX Veranda kcups, but between price and quality they like Donut-house. Since they purchased Keurig a month and a half ago, they have bought 2 packs of Donut-house and 3 packs of SBUX Veranda k-cups. Today they bought 3 packs of Donut-house and they already got the BOGO from starbucks.
They are a loyal SBUX customer, they got their morning cup from the store before going to work everyday. Today they do visit Starbucks store but not that often. This made me think that they got hooked to Donut-house because they tried the sample pack. There might be more sbux loyals who will love one of the 100 varieties and choose that as an alternative.,
knock-off? why waste 50 cents on a knock-off, but your favorite ground and use ekobrew reusable cups, you can still make a good coffee.
I think GMCR is going to stay in for ever. They have revolutionized and evolutionized the coffee world.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Not to worry about special offers for K-Cups.
I noticed SBUX on sale in my local Publix (3 months ago) & asked the inventory manager about it.
She said they regularly offer discounts on K-Cups depending on what the home office allows.
When inventory gets unbalanced they are allowed by licensee's to do so.
The discounts are not steep & they still maintain margins.
I agree with your sentiment in regards to branded customer preferences.
You mentioned seeing a customer shift to a GMCR brand from SBUX & I believe this is not a unique event (indicating strong potential awareness of GMCR brands.)
I really like the packaging of the GMCR brands & believe they & other licensee's will continue to dominate!
As another poster stated; this board smells like shorts but we are gradually shifting the topic of conversation into a more positive vein.
The same thing will happen with the market value of GMCR.
YOU CAN'T IGNORE PROFIT!
Sentiment: Buy
You just don't get it do you?
People who shell out for a Keurig; drink BRANDED product.
I've tasted the GMCR product in hotel rooms & offices & find it to be delicious.
Personally; I still drink Community Dark Roast made old school in my stove top percolator at home & although I could have bought LCUT who own Faberware (the manufacturer of my percolator) I bought GMCR instead.
I still feel like I've taken advantage of someone after they'd been mugged.
Suffice it to say; I'll watch the calendar for GMCR's Feb earnings report (long position pays off.)
You can watch the clock & decide when you've lost enough on your short position.
Sentiment: Buy
where exactly are the buyers today? we are at the low of the day.
Buyers everywhere, one for every sale.
I prefer a 36D cup.
Now thats a big bean bag
What makes you think they'll be half price?
I didn't think they would be, I knew they would be based on the obvious. The obvious that emotionally attached investors ignored for the past year. So here we are just weeks past patent expiration and SBUX is clearing out their k-cup inventory at half price this weekend. So I guess I was right again.

After September, coffee roasters will not have to share revenue with GMCR thus reducing the cost to produce there own branded k-cups. Manufacturing will be moved out of Vermont to Mexico by third party manufacturrers for even further cost reductions. So a company like Chock Full of Nuts will be able to contract some third party manufacturer to pack their coffee into k-cups for significantly less than Dunkin and SBUX are paying GMCR.
that is weird because they sell cheap coffee everywhere and yet a lot of people still buy the better stuff. So I think you are wrong ...way wrong.
Are you implying that coffee ground months ago and stored in an airated plastic cup is "the better stuff"? I prefer fresh ground myself. The k-cups currently available are expensive but certainly taste like cheap stuff. People using these machines don't have sophisticated taste in coffee, they are just lazy and a paying a premium to cut 30 seconds off the time it takes to brew a decent pot of coffee.
That is true, but most of the cockroaches posting on this board today are short sellers that think they can knock the GMCR SP down.
They probably drink plain label instant coffee.
LOL
Mark this post and check the reality this fall!
52 and still falling
Great news for consumers as they will cut their coffee expenses in half.
