Golden..do you think senior management at GMCR is concerned with the intense shorting and downward push of the share price? Also, do you think they have bought back many shares as indicated in their August earnings report?
I would suggest that most management teams shouldn't concern themselves with short speculation of their stock as it never proves to be a good strategy to interfere with. Once you start to game plan against shorts, the investing public expect it from you always and this can prove costly. The best thing managment can do is to execute the game plan. I would think that management has been actively participating in its buyback plan and such proof may be evident in the volatility in the share price over the last month. One day in particular I remember the stock fell out of the gate nearly $1 and headed higher the rest of the day to finish positive by some 60 cents or so. However, we will know for sure how active management has been on the next earnings report.
speaking in terms of the multiple I think it deserves between 18 and 22 at present until we see clear indication of some kind of expansion efforts and realized gains from managements new forecasting methodology.
