Why would SODA look to Sell if they have Market cornered?
Rejection from Pepsi / Coke tells me SODA knows something near term that will derail their dominance. The fact Pepsi was looking to purchase only a segment of the Soda is very telling. The fact that Pepsi walked away even more telling
Keep in mind SODA was trying to sell, suitors were not coming for them. Why would you sell if you were on the verge of a huge breakout? Something is up and it will become very clear soon.
Did I miss something? When was it confirmed that they were shopping themselves? In fact, (if you go to their website under the news & media section) they addressed the (so called) PEP offer as having no basis. And regarding the NY Post article - all I saw was unnamed source, unconfirmed rumor, and informal (also unconfirmed) talks with Rothchild!!! Frankly, I wish the story would be addressed once and for all.
Well if you read some of the articles on the filing for the Karbon trademark, it appears it is no near term threat. I don't want SODA bought out, nor do I particularly want a merger - but it strikes me that the merger that makes the most sense would be GMCR & SODA -- SODA would immediately bring to GMCR and international market and presence they presently don't have and the two companies here operating under one company would rule the hot/cold home beverage market.
