Monster is doing a smart thing by coming out with 12pk 8 oz. cans. They are offering a deal to the on-premise initially, which will pay big dividends. This is where Monster is the weakest and can gain share against Red Bull and others. In the chain and independent accounts they are already giving us more space and that means more sales. There will be attractive pricepoints of $9.99 and $10.99 in some of the chains. So, they will have this new weapon for nearly 10 months, that they did not have last year. Plus Hubert's Lemonade will be a plus for most of the country this year as well. For the optimistic at heart, this is a real plus. GO MONSTER!!!
Guys, thanks for those nice words. You are right the spam is getting really bad, to the point I am having to sift through allot of BS to get to anything worthwhile. But getting back to what I wrote, if Monster can be a credible player on-premise, their market share will really get a boost. They are barely a player right now, so this will be plus business. Sales are off to a good start here....will keep you guys posted.
Budjo, We used to handle Monster on-premise in Indiana. It is not developed at all on premise as they didn't have coverage in all markets. You are totally on about the incremental sales. The local Coke bottler handles off-premise here. His comments are similar to yours. See you in Vegas.
Budjo, I want to second Condo's comments. I treasure your input. Unfortunately, the extensive auto-spam is almost making this board unusable. I have complained to Yahoo, but without success, so far. The same thing is happening on other boards that I follow.
Regardless, I always look forward to your knowledgeable input.
Budjo, thank you again for your contribution to this board, very refreshing, the forth agreement, "Always do your best", the first agreement, Always be true to your word". Thank you for that.
